19 week update

Wow, please no comments about what I am wearing. This was taken at 17 weeks & I am 19 weeks now, but haven't had a chance to get a new picture. I really do apologize for the outfit. Stretch pants are my favorite thing now. I have a belly band, but I just don't like wearing that over my jeans. I feel like I am always have to make sure it is adjusted correctly.

Life is good though I am still nauseous. I cannot believe it really. I got sick the past 4 days but today took B6, wore Sea Bands and took every precaution I could think of.

I am starting to not fit into my clothes anymore. As pictured above. Work clothes is a real struggle because I have not bought any official maternity clothes yet, but a lot of my old clothes are snug and fit me funny now.

I am still waiting for that "burst" of energy in the second trimester. I have still felt very tired - maybe I am just lazy. It's hard to tell.

We got a ton done over SB11, or should I say Philip got a lot done? I'll post pictures soon.

spring break so far

has been awesome! so excited for summer now - hope i can make it until then after this week. so much left on the list & i'm afraid a lot of it will not happen.
  • do a major spring cleaning on our house
  • tune up & wash my car
  • go to the beach!
  • eat on the screened-in porch
  • go shopping with my boo in williamsburg
  • set up a separate bank account just for tithing
  • work on my online shops & get the inventory up to date
  • sew pillows for our couch
  • sew philip's shirts that have torn
  • make a window seat for the dining room (guess who is going to be working on this one?)
  • put quarter round down upstairs in our house
  • put winter clothes in storage.....
we actually added something to the list that i didn't expect. philip has been doing a ton of yard work! we spent about 4 hours on monday going to lowes, home depot & some local nuseries. home depot was by far the best experience, if you were wondering. i still have a lot to do & haven't laid around as much as i had hoped, but still it's been great.

i'll try to post some pictures of the yard soon!

bean salsa! aye aye aye!

the last of the series...tear...

well it's been fun! here is my last recipe for the weekend, maybe this coming weekend will bring more cooking fun!

homemade bean salsa - one of my favorites...
{pardon my photography skills....the lighting is off...but it is delish...promise!}
you can make all kinds of variations, but i just mixed all these ingredients together:
  • can of chick peas (drained)
  • can of black beans (rinsed & drained)
  • fresh chopped cilantro (about a handful)
  • diced fresh tomato
  • small handful of diced red onions
  • red wine vinegar (a few splashes)
  • salt & pepper
  • juice of a lime
and mix it all together, season to taste. mmm yummy on tortilla chips or alone.

yum!

the son of a preacher man

& recipe posts continue...
preacher cookies...another favorite...i can claim they are semi-healthy too...(peanut butter & oats...right?) i used this recipe
some people call them no bakes, but my aunt robyn called them preacher cookies because if you see the preacher coming down the road to visit you, you can cook them up real quick. i cannot imagine that i would have enough time to cook these if that did ever happen, but i like the name.

p.s. they are a little gooey and messy. i might not have hit the nail on the head with this one, but i may not hav boiled them long enough.

let them have queso!

let the recipes commence & let the women have their queso!

quesopraise the Lord...I have missed you and discovered that normally it is WHITE AMERICAN CHEESE & not queso...a forbidden pregnancy cheese...here's the recipe!

1 package {24 slices} of white American {not the Swiss American– white American}
a couple spoonfuls of chopped jalapenos
milk to thin
Unwrap the cheese and break/cut into small pieces and place in microwave safe bowl. Add a few spoonfuls of finely chopped jalapenos. I like to chop mine in the mini-food processor. I throw a little jalapeno juice in too. Microwave on high for 1 min. Stir and add some milk to thin. Continue to microwave, stir and add milk until you’ve reached your desired consistency.  (credit)

no photo...sorry...but it was delicious!

is cooking & baking a pregnancy symptom?

for some reason this weekend, i have not felt like cleaning - which my house could really use - or doing my tax amendment, which i also really need to do.......but i have felt like baking and cooking. is this possibly a symptom of pregnancy? or maybe this is me in the second trimester with lots of energy...although it seems to come and go.

i cooked and baked like crazy this weekend. i was going to post pictures and recipes all at once, but to not overwhelm you with five recipes i am going to spread out each recipe i used throughout the week...so stay tuned, but this was from saturday...

cake balls...they would have been cake pops, but why spend the money on popsicle sticks if you don't have to? (recipe credit)
oh and yes, they are supposed to be dipped in the chocolate...but i ran out so i just did a dollop, but that was still good. much better than real cake. no me gusta real cake. and pardon the lighting...it was night time.

it has been a wonderful weekend...more recipes to come...

still sick

hello blogging world. i have not felt like saying much. i am still sick with the sweet little baby. i guess that is good, right? she or he does not like what i am having for breakfast. and i am trying to stomach some carrots as i type. yuck.

but its the weekend! yahoo! sometimes i think i am looking pregnant, but then sometimes i'm not sure. i'll be 17 weeks on tuesday & we go to the doctor on monday. i am still wondering if they will do an ultrasound or not....but in some ways i do not feel ready to know the sex. i kind of am ok not knowing now, but it will be exciting whenever we find out.

ere i am at 16weeks - a few days ago. i always look at other pregnant people and compare myself, but hopefully i will feel better after the appointment monday.

Pardon my appearance...for some reason I always have Philip take a picture at the end of the work day & I am never looking my best. Oh and I just had to add soft serve to the list of things not to eat....I appreciate all the encouraging comments about my posts a few weeks ago. But seriously, soft serve? There is a secret really long list of things you should not eat somewhere, but I don't know where to find it.

Enjoy your weekend!
